Your free book

We use your email address to confirm that you control the mailbox and deliver the book you requested. This processing is necessary to fulfil that request. Requesting the book does not subscribe you to marketing.

Optional book updates

Only if you separately opt in and confirm your email do we store your address for occasional book updates from Wes L'Or Rez. Our legal basis is your consent. We record the wording, version and time of your choice. You can withdraw it through the management link in your email, without losing access to your requested book. Future marketing messages must include an unsubscribe link.

What we store

Your email, selected language, request and confirmation times, delivery state, consent choices and hashed access links. Short-lived rate limits help protect the form from abuse; they use a salted digest of the network address rather than storing it in our database. We use legitimate interests in operating a secure service for this abuse prevention. We do not put email addresses into analytics.

Retention

Unconfirmed requests expire after 24 hours. Book access links expire after seven days. Reader records without an active marketing subscription are removed after 30 days; subscribed reader records are retained for up to two years after their last confirmed request unless deleted sooner. Expired records are removed by daily maintenance. Aggregate counts contain no email addresses and are retained for up to 400 days.

Our service providers

Cloudflare hosts the website and reader database, supplies form-abuse protection through Turnstile, and supplies Web Analytics. Brevo delivers the requested emails. They process relevant technical or delivery data on our behalf under their service agreements. Provider delivery records may remain after you delete your reader record here; contact us to request their removal. Cloudflare may process data outside the European Economic Area under its Data Processing Addendum and applicable transfer safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses. Analytics and optional support

Cloudflare Web Analytics provides aggregate visits and page-performance information without analytics cookies or individual visitor profiles. This site uses no Google Analytics or advertising trackers. We also count confirmation emails accepted by the delivery service, confirmed mailboxes and authorised PDF/EPUB requests. A request does not prove that a book was downloaded completely or read. Private reader-link pages have no analytics beacon. Optional support payments are processed separately by Stripe; payment is not required to receive the book.

Your rights

Use your private management link to export your reader details, unsubscribe or delete your website reader record. You can also contact us to request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability where applicable, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. We may need to verify your identity before acting. You may complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority or your local supervisory authority. We do not make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on you.
